The additional window on the roof also allows for stargazing and can be left open or closed.
One of the standout features of the Eclipse tent is its military spec 370gsm/sqm canvas. This canvas is a perfect blend of cotton and polyester, offering superior thermal properties over traditional canvases. Additionally, it is fluorocarbon impregnated for protection against soilage and water ingress through the seams, preventing wetting through the fabric while still allowing the canvas to breathe. The canvas also undergoes an anti-fungal treatment to withstand UV and weathering. All seams are double stitched for added protection, and the durability and strength of the canvas improve over time.
The tent base is made from lightweight Aluminium extrusion construction, which offers a "super light, super strong base with thermal and retention qualities" that will not bend or warp over time like checker plate, plastic, or wood.
Heavy duty YKK zips, ventilated and insect screened windows that can be opened even in the rain, and large aperture windows with removable gauze provide excellent ventilation while keeping pesky sand flies out.
The ladder is another standout feature of the Eclipse tent, with foot-friendly, non-slip rungs rated to 140kgs, making it infinitely superior to other ladders on the market. The 85mm thick high-density foam mattress is also a standout feature among its rivals.
The tent comes with a nylon flysheet designed to allow optimum air flow and folds up with the tent. The exceptionally strong PVC cover with additional UV stabilisers and welded seams offers 100% water and dustproofing.
