The Alu-Cab ModCAP Camper Base is the aluminium canopy at the heart of Alu-Cab's modular ModCAP Camper, here made for the Toyota Land Cruiser 79 double cab, with glass side windows. Aluminium gull-wing side windows are standard; this version has glass side windows instead, for daylight and a view out. The roof is interchangeable: fit the flat roof and use it as a canopy for your gear, or fit the ModCAP Camper Tent and it becomes a two-sleeper camper with access from inside. It is vehicle-specific to the LC79 double cab, so no separate fit kit is needed.

Make it a camper
The simplest way to a complete camper is the ModCAP Camper Kit for the Land Cruiser 79: the base, the two-sleeper tent and the tent filler & mount in one price. Double Cab R 200 985 with glass side windows (R 193 985 with aluminium). That page also lists every optional extra with its price.
Good to know before you order
- This base is made for the Land Cruiser 79 double cab. Alu-Cab does not make a ModCAP for the LC79 single cab.
- Free delivery from Alu-Cab to our Bellville workshop for fitment.
Choosing your Alu-Cab camper
Alu-Cab makes two campers. The Canopy Camper is a complete one-piece unit: canopy and two-sleeper tent built as one, with lights, USB charging and solar wiring included. It comes as the Basic, or as the Deluxe with a Shadow Awning, rear-door canvas bags and rear MOLLE plates added. The ModCAP Camper is modular: a ModCAP base like this one with a removable two-sleeper tent. The tent swaps with a flat roof, so the same base works as a canopy or a camper.
