These Holdfast Cam Straps are a pack of two straps for tying down boards, kayaks, SUPs and similar watersport loads on a roof rack. Each strap is 25mm wide with a quick-release cam buckle rather than a ratchet, and the pack comes as a matching pair in length and colour. They're offered in a choice of lengths and colour combinations.
Soft gear like a surfboard or kayak hull can dent or crack under a ratchet strap wound too tight, and ratchets take longer to set up when you're trying to get on the road. A cam buckle tightens by hand in one motion and releases just as fast, giving a secure hold on lighter gear without the risk of over-tensioning.
4Matt Campers in South Africa can help you choose the right length and colour pack for your gear.
Check these points before choosing a pack:
Pair these with the full roof rack range, or browse accessories for other tie-downs to complete your setup.
What gear are these straps for?
They suit surfboards, kayaks, SUPs and similar watersport loads, strapped down onto a roof rack.
What lengths are available?
1.0m, 2.0m, 3.0m and 5.0m.
How much weight can each strap hold?
Each strap is rated to 250kg.
Why choose a cam strap instead of a ratchet strap?
A cam buckle tightens and releases by hand, so it's quicker to use and there's less risk of over-tightening soft gear than with a ratchet mechanism.
