The Holdfast Kayak Wedge is a set of four rubber cradles that fix into the T-track slot on a Holdfast load bar or wingbar to carry a kayak, canoe or surfski. Non-marking rubber padding cups the hull and stainless steel hardware handles the fittings, with all mounting hardware included in the set.
A hull resting straight on a bare roof bar puts all its weight on a narrow strip of gel-coat, which is exactly where dents and scratches start. These wedges spread that load across a shaped rubber pad instead of one pressure point, and their angled profile helps hold the boat steady against wind buffeting at speed, so it arrives the way it left home.
Our team can help you check hull fit against your load bars anywhere in South Africa.
This wedge set bolts onto specific rack bars, so check these before ordering:
Add cam straps from our roof rack accessories range to tie the hull down, or start with a roof rack if you don't have one yet.
What does the set include?
Four wedges with all the installation hardware needed to bolt them onto your rack.
Which racks does it fit?
It fixes into the T-track slot on a Holdfast load bar or wingbar.
Do I need straps as well?
Yes. Use cam straps to tie the hull down; these are sold separately from the wedge set.
Will it fit my kayak or canoe?
The wedges adjust for varying hull widths. Ask us to confirm fit for your specific boat before ordering.
