Planning a big family adventure — one that needs to carry more, stay organised, and go anywhere the tar runs out? This is the one. The Metalian Maxi is the flagship: the largest trailer in the Metalian range, built for serious storage, real durability and family-friendly touring across the Western Cape and beyond. And this green unit isn't a "build it over the next six months" project — it's already kitted into a proper off-grid basecamp, with power, water, hot water and storage all in, standing on our Cape Town showroom floor and ready to go.

Most Maxis start life as a bare platform you spec up piece by piece. This one skips the wait. Hitch up and you're touring — West Coast dunes, Cederberg passes or a long Karoo haul.

Power that runs your whole camp

A full Victron system does the heavy lifting: a BMV-712 battery monitor, twin MPPT 100/30 solar regulators, an 800 W Phoenix inverter for 230 V mains at camp, an AC-DC charger and a 100 Ah lithium battery — fully wired with lights and protection. Run the fridge, charge the devices, keep the lights on, off-grid, for days.

Water and a camp kitchen, sorted

Two 68 L tanks feed a pump, filter and tap, with a 5.5 L gas water heater and mixer tap giving you hot and cold running water at the kitchen. Gas Certificate of Compliance and regulator included, so it's camp-ready and compliant from day one.

Your rooftop tent, your call

This unit is shown fitted with a Bundutop rooftop tent and an Alu-Cab 270 Shadow awning — but you're not locked in. Prefer an iKamper, Howling Moon, Ironman 4x4, Bundutec or a different Alu-Cab setup? We stock them all, and we'll swap the tent and awning for the combination that suits how you travel, then re-quote accordingly. That's the point of buying from a real dealer with a workshop — you get the rig that fits you, not a fixed shelf product.

While stock lasts, this Maxi comes with a brand-new Flex TW75 dual-zone fridge/freezer — 75 L, cools all the way to -20 °C, runs off 12/24 V or mains, with Bluetooth app control, a built-in battery monitor and 3-stage battery protection to look after your lithium. It drops straight onto the fitted full-extension fridge slide. Cold drinks and frozen meat, from the coast to the Kalahari.

Still a platform — build it out your way

Absolutely. It's shown with a Bundutop tent and Alu-Cab awning, but we'll swap those for an iKamper, Howling Moon, Ironman 4x4, Bundutec or another Alu-Cab setup — whatever fits how you travel — and re-quote accordingly.

What's the Flex TW75 fridge offer?

What licence do I need to tow it?
With its braked off-road axle it tows as a Code EB trailer. We confirm your vehicle's towing capacity and your licence class with you before you buy.

Can I finance it or trade in my current setup?
Yes to both. We can help arrange finance and we welcome trade-ins. We're in Cape Town, Western Cape, with nationwide delivery.
