Short Product Summary

A very short, very heavy adapter lead: 4/0AWG tinned copper with an Anderson SB350 connector on one end and 3/8 inch ring lugs on the other. It is the plug-and-play way to bring a Renogy REGO battery into a system that uses conventional lugged cable, or to feed a large inverter from a combiner.

Why This Product

REGO components talk to each other through Anderson SB350 connectors, which is excellent if your whole system is REGO and awkward the moment it is not. Most caravans have a busbar, a fuse block and an inverter that all expect ring lugs on a stud. This cable bridges the two worlds in 300 mm, without anyone having to cut a factory lead or crimp a 4/0AWG lug in a battery box with a hammer crimper. 4/0AWG is enormous cable, roughly 107mm² of copper, and it is used here because the currents involved are enormous too. A REGO 12V 400Ah battery feeding a 3000W inverter can move several hundred amps, and at that level the resistance of the cable is what determines whether your inverter browns out under load or holds voltage. Short and thick is the entire design brief. The Anderson connector is also a genuine safety feature: it is a positive, polarised, high-current disconnect you can pull by hand, which beats spannering a battery terminal in the dark.

Key Features

  • Anderson SB350 to 3/8 inch ring lugs – connects REGO equipment to conventional lugged busbars, fuse blocks and inverters.
  • 4/0AWG high-purity oxygen-free tinned copper – minimal voltage drop at the very high currents this cable is built for.
  • Short 1FT (approximately 300 mm) length – keeps resistance and unprotected cable to an absolute minimum.
  • 600V rated, insulated cable – far beyond any DC system voltage in a caravan.
  • Silver-plated Anderson contacts – built for repeated high-current mating without pitting.
  • Rated from -40°C to +105°C – survives a hot battery compartment under load.
  • Vibration tested Anderson housing – stays mated on corrugated gravel roads.
  • Plug-and-play, no crimping on site – factory-terminated lugs and a hand-mateable connector.
  • Supplied as a positive and negative pair – both polarities, correctly colour coded.

Ideal For

  • Adding a Renogy REGO 12V 400A lithium battery to an existing conventional system.
  • Connecting a REGO inverter charger to a system combiner or busbar.
  • High-current inverter feeds where cable resistance genuinely matters.
  • Off-road trailers that need a hand-operated high-current disconnect at the battery.
  • Workshop and installer stock for REGO-based builds.

Local Support from 4Matt Campers

4Matt Campers supplies Renogy gear nationwide across South Africa. Cable this size is expensive to get wrong, so confirm your connector type and lug size with us before ordering. There is a 5FT 6AWG PP75 version for lighter REGO DC-DC charger connections if that is closer to what you need. The rest of the range is in electrical accessories and Renogy.

Optional Fitment & Upgrade Notes

Note that the stated cable length does not include the connectors, so plan your run with a little slack. Fuse the positive side properly: a cable this heavy connected to a large lithium bank must have a main DC fuse close to the battery, and an ANL fuse of the correct rating is the usual answer. Torque the ring lugs onto their studs evenly and re-check after the first hard trip; a loose 4/0AWG joint gets hot very quickly. Do not extend this cable by joining two together. If you need more length, use a single longer cable of the same gauge. Keep the Anderson connector out of standing water and blow the dust out of the contacts occasionally if you camp on gravel.

Complete Your Setup

Use it with a bank from lithium batteries and a unit from inverters and inverter chargers. Main DC fuses, busbars and heavy inverter cable are in electrical accessories, and the solar side is covered in solar panels and solar charge controllers.

FAQ

Can I plug two of these into each other?
Yes. Anderson SB350 connectors are genderless, so inverting one lets it mate with another, which is a handy way to extend a REGO connection.

Why is it only 300 mm long?
Because that is the point. At several hundred amps, every extra centimetre of cable is resistance and voltage drop. It is an adapter, not an extension.

Do I still need a fuse?
Absolutely. A main DC fuse near the battery is essential on any cable this heavy. Size it to the cable.

Will the 3/8 inch ring fit my busbar?
It fits standard 3/8 inch (M10) studs. If your busbar or inverter uses 5/16 inch studs, this lug will be loose on them, so check first.

Is 4/0AWG overkill for my system?
If you are not running a REGO 400A battery or a 3000W-class inverter, very possibly. Tell us your loads and we will point you at the right gauge.
