Blade fuses are fine for interior lights. Once you are dealing with a solar controller feed, a DC-DC charger branch or anything running through decent cable, an ANL fuse is the right tool. The element is a solid brass strip in an insulated body, it clears predictably, and unlike a blade fuse you can see at a glance whether it has blown. The clear cover matters more than it sounds. An exposed ANL fuse in a battery box is two live studs waiting for a spanner to fall on them, and ANL holders are usually mounted exactly where you are working when things go wrong. Optional Fitment & Upgrade Notes

Fit the holder in the positive line, as close to the battery as you can practically mount it. Use a short, correctly terminated fuse cable between the battery post and the holder rather than an offcut, because that stretch is unprotected. Ring lugs on both studs must be crimped properly and torqued evenly, and the cover must go back on before you call the job done. Do not fit a larger fuse to stop nuisance blowing. If a 30A fuse keeps going, either the circuit is drawing more than you think or there is a fault, and moving to 60A only means the cable becomes the fuse. If you later upgrade the circuit, buy the correct ANL fuse rating and reuse this holder.
