Short Product Summary

The Renogy 50W 12V Flexible Monocrystalline Solar Panel is an ultra-thin, ultra-light panel that bends to a curved roof. At 4 mm thick and 1.3 kg it adds almost nothing to your height or payload, and it bonds down without a frame or roof penetrations.

Why This Product

A rigid panel needs brackets, height and a flat surface. This one has none of those requirements — it follows the curve of a canopy, a pop-top or a boat deck and disappears into the profile. For a trickle charge, a small 12V system or a build where every kilogram counts, it does the job without touching the roofline.

Key Features

  • 4 mm ultra-thin laminate – sits almost flush and adds no meaningful height
  • 1.3 kg – a fraction of the weight of a framed glass panel
  • Flexible – bends to curved caravan, canopy and boat surfaces
  • IP68 panel body – sealed against dust and water
  • 2 bypass diodes – limits the loss when part of the panel is shaded
  • IP67 junction box and connectors – rated for permanent outdoor mounting
  • 25-year power output warranty – 5 years on materials and workmanship

Ideal For

  • Curved caravan, canopy and pop-top roofs
  • Boats and any surface a rigid panel will not sit flat on
  • Weight-sensitive builds and small trailers
  • Trickle-charging a battery between trips

Optional Fitment / Upgrade Notes

A flexible panel must be bonded to a surface that can shed heat — do not mount it over a sealed air gap, and never walk on it. You will also need a charge controller sized to your battery: never wire a panel straight to a battery. We can supply the adhesive, cable gland and controller with it.

FAQ

Can I walk on it?
No. Concentrating your weight on a flexible laminate can crack the cells underneath.

Will it charge a battery on its own?
Not directly — it produces up to 24.3V open-circuit, so it must run through a charge controller sized for your battery.

How much will 50W actually give me?
Enough to hold a battery topped up and run small loads. For a fridge you want 100W or more — tell us the load and we will size it properly.

Can it bond to a curved roof?
Yes, that is what it is designed for. It flexes to follow a curve that a rigid framed panel cannot sit on.

What warranty does it carry?
Renogy states a 25-year power output warranty and 5 years on materials and workmanship.
