The Renogy Pro 12V 2000W HF Inverter Charger provides 2,000 W of clean 230 V pure sine wave power from a 12 V battery bank, with a built-in battery charger and UPS backup. The high-frequency design keeps it light and compact, which makes it one of the easier 2 kW units to fit into a caravan, camper or 4x4 conversion without losing a whole locker.
Two kilowatts is the sweet spot for most touring setups: enough for a kettle, coffee machine, laptops, camera gear and light power tools, without demanding the very large battery bank that a 3 kW unit really needs. Because the charger and transfer capability are built in, you get one tidy installation instead of an inverter on one wall and a mains charger on another. UPS backup means changeovers do not interrupt whatever is plugged in.
4Matt Campers is a Renogy dealer in Cape Town, supporting customers throughout the Western Cape and delivering across South Africa. We will happily work through your appliance list to confirm whether 2,000 W is the right size, and specify the battery, cable and fusing to go with it. Visit our showroom or send us your setup details.
Is this the 230 V version?
Yes, configured for South African 230 V AC at 50 Hz.
Is 2,000 W enough?
For most touring setups, yes. It comfortably covers a kettle, coffee machine, laptops and light tools. Step up to 3,000 W for a microwave and air conditioner together.
What is the advantage of the high-frequency design?
Less weight and less bulk for the same output, which matters in a caravan where payload and locker space are limited.
Does it charge lithium batteries?
Yes, LiFePO4 is supported alongside AGM, gel and flooded lead-acid.
Do I still need a separate mains charger?
No, the charger is built in. That is the main benefit of an inverter charger over a plain inverter.
