Short Product Summary

The Renogy REGO 12V 3000W HF Inverter Charger is the flagship of the REGO range: a high-frequency 3,000 W pure sine wave inverter with a built-in battery charger, UPS functionality and integrated Bluetooth monitoring, configured for South African 230 V AC. High-frequency design makes it dramatically lighter and more compact than a conventional 3 kW inverter, which matters a great deal in a caravan or camper.

Why This Product

Traditional 3 kW inverters are heavy, bulky transformer-based units. The REGO uses high-frequency switching to deliver the same 3,000 W in a far smaller and lighter package, freeing up locker space and payload you can use elsewhere. It holds full output without derating even in serious heat, which is exactly what a South African summer demands of an inverter mounted in an enclosed space. Built-in Bluetooth means you can see load, battery state and charging behaviour from your phone rather than guessing.

Key Features

  • 3,000 W continuous pure sine wave output – clean, stable 230 V power for demanding appliances.
  • 9,000 W peak power – substantial surge headroom for compressors, pumps and power tools.
  • High-frequency design – markedly lighter and more compact than an equivalent transformer-based 3 kW inverter.
  • Efficiency up to 91% – with no power reduction at full load even at high ambient temperature.
  • Built-in Bluetooth – live wireless monitoring through the Renogy DC Home app.
  • Integrated battery charger – recharges 12 V house batteries, lithium included, whenever AC power is available.
  • UPS mode – in UPS operation the inverter's own consumption is drawn from shore power, preserving your battery.
  • Broad battery support – LiFePO4, sealed/AGM, gel and flooded lead-acid.
  • 50/60 Hz adaptable output – suits 230 V, 50 Hz South African appliances.

Ideal For

  • Premium caravans, motorhomes and expedition vehicles needing full domestic 230 V power.
  • Weight- and space-critical builds where a transformer inverter simply will not fit.
  • Systems already running REGO batteries, chargers and controllers.
  • Off-grid setups where uninterrupted power through a changeover genuinely matters.
  • Owners who want proper app-based visibility of a large power system.

Local Support from 4Matt Campers

4Matt Campers is a Renogy dealer in Cape Town, supporting customers across the Western Cape and delivering throughout South Africa. A REGO 3 kW system is a significant investment and we would rather specify it properly with you than sell you the wrong thing. Talk to us about battery bank capacity and discharge rating, DC cable sizing and how this integrates with your existing solar and DC-DC charging.

What's Included

  • 1 × Renogy REGO 12V 3000W HF pure sine wave inverter charger
  • 1 × user manual

Optional Fitment & Upgrade Notes

  • At full output the DC draw is roughly 270 A at 12 V. Battery capacity alone is not enough; the bank's maximum continuous discharge current must support it.
  • Use short, heavy DC cable and correctly rated fusing. This is the single most common cause of underperformance.
  • Designed to work as part of the REGO ecosystem alongside REGO batteries, DC-DC chargers and MPPT controllers.
  • The AC side should be installed by a competent person where it feeds existing sockets or a distribution board.
  • Bluetooth is built in, so no additional BT-2 module is needed for monitoring.

FAQ

What does HF actually mean for me?
High-frequency design replaces a heavy mains transformer with compact switching electronics. In practice you get the same 3,000 W in a much lighter, smaller unit, which is valuable when payload and locker space are limited.

Is this the 230 V version?
Yes. This is the South African specification unit at 230 V AC. Note that Renogy's American listings describe a 120 V split-phase model, which this is not.

Do I need a Bluetooth module?
No, Bluetooth is built in. Monitor it directly through the Renogy DC Home app.

Will it derate in summer heat?
Renogy rates it to hold peak performance at full load in high ambient temperatures, which is one of the main reasons to choose it in South Africa.

How is it different from the Pro 3 kW HF model?
Both are high-frequency 3 kW units. REGO is the premium tier, with built-in Bluetooth and designed to integrate over the REGO ecosystem. Talk to us if you are weighing the two.
