The Renogy REGO 12V 60A MPPT Solar Charge Controller is the flagship regulator in Renogy's premium REGO range. It delivers 60 A of charge current and up to 800 W of solar input on a 12 V system, with 99% MPPT tracking efficiency, built-in Bluetooth and plug-and-play Anderson PP75 connections. It is built for serious off-grid caravan, camper and off-road trailer solar systems across South Africa.
A charge controller is the single component that decides how much of your roof's solar energy actually reaches your battery. An old PWM regulator can throw away a large share of that harvest, especially on cold mornings and overcast Western Cape days when panel voltage is high. The REGO 60A uses true MPPT tracking to convert surplus panel voltage into usable charge current, so a 400 W array behaves like a 400 W array. With Bluetooth built in and CAN bus networking to the wider REGO ecosystem, it also gives you a live, honest view of what your system is doing from your phone.
4Matt Campers is a Renogy dealer based in Cape Town, serving the Western Cape and delivering nationwide across South Africa. We can advise on array sizing, panel configuration, cable gauge and how this controller fits alongside your existing battery, inverter and DC-DC charger. Come and see the range in our showroom, or send us your current setup and we will tell you honestly whether this is the right regulator for it.
Do I need a separate Bluetooth module?
No. Bluetooth is built into the REGO 60A, so you can connect directly with the Renogy DC Home app.
How many solar panels can I run on it?
Up to 800 W on a 12 V system. The important limit is voltage: total array open-circuit voltage must stay below 100 V, including the rise that happens on cold mornings.
Will it charge lithium batteries?
Yes. It has a dedicated lithium profile using a two-stage charge, as well as Sealed/AGM, Flooded, Gel and a user-defined mode.
Is it worth upgrading from a PWM regulator?
In most caravan and camper installations, yes. MPPT converts excess panel voltage into charge current, which typically returns a noticeably larger daily harvest from the same panels.
Can I fit it myself?
Many customers do, and the Anderson connections make it straightforward. If you would rather it was done properly the first time, speak to us in Cape Town about fitment.
